Yatra launches a curation of in-city activities

DELHI: Travel portal Yatra.com has launched a collection of curated in city activities. Currently, available on the portal and its android mobile app, it is a handpicked inventory of over 40,000 activities designed by experienced professionals.

Yatra said it is looking to expand its foothold in the holiday packages space, expand its travel offerings to include in-city activities and experiences, reports The Economic Times.

As a part of this offering, Yatra will showcase close to 1,000 experiences in 57 domestic cities and over 39,000 experiences in 1,545 international cities. Priced between Rs 2,000 and Rs 40,000, these activities involve a host of experiences for individuals and families, comprising of extreme adventure, events and shows, outdoor fun, luxury and romance, food, and workshops.

Sharat Dhall, president, Yatra.com said: “Travellers are evolving and seeking a wider range of local experiences as a part of their travel. Launching activities is a firm step towards meeting these needs by expanding the ‘experiential activities’ category at Yatra. We are confident that these will add an enthralling and exciting element to our customers’ travel whether as a part of a long outstation break or a short in-city interlude in their busy lives.”

Covering both the metros and tourist destinations, activities are available in cities like New Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Mumbai, Kolkata and internationally in Amsterdam, New York, Athens, Barcelona, Paris, Bali, Rome, Las Vegas, Tokyo, Singapore, etc. With 24/7 support, Yatra will be offering special group discounts too. In addition, while paragliding, snorkelling, mountain biking, trekking, kayaking are the most popular adventure activities, Yatra has introduced luxury out Yatra has introduced luxury outdoor activities like desert safari, helicopter rides, exotic car rides, and cruise rides.

Previously, in 2015, Yatra along with Snow Leopard Adventure launched Adventure Nation, India’s first social website dedicated to adventure, and in 2016, partnered with Travel Logs, a company that curates experiences.
