Work on Chandigarh tourism bldg begins

CHANDIGARH
The UT administration has decided to construct Paryatan Bhawan as one of the two iconic buildings in Sector 17. The urban planning department has begun work on the architecture of the project and work on the ground is expected to start soon.

The site on the northern end adjoining Madhya Marg was planned to be taken up by the city planners ‘when the time was ripe’. It will be cohesively designed as a strong urban design statement showcasing Chandigarh as a tourism and modern heritage destination and simultaneously define the entry to the revitalized city centre.

Earlier, Paryatan Bhawan, which will be a one-stop facility for tourists, was to come up near RBI office in Sector 17.
