Water sports operators start riding the waves

CALANGUTE

Water sports operators commenced their water sports activities in Goa on Thursday, in time for the extended holiday weekend, even as beach shacks are yet to start their operations.

Calangute MLA Michael Lobo told TOI that following a request from water sports operators, who wanted to start their operations in anticipation of the huge holiday crowds during the current long holiday weekend, chief minister Manohar Parrikar issued instructions to all concerned to clear the file pertaining to the start of the water sports activities.

“Many tourists come to Goa for the thrill of water sports and boat cruises. Keeping this in mind, it is learnt that the chief minister instructed the tourism minister, tourism director, captain of ports, etc, to expedite the clearances, and permit water sports operations from Thursday onwards,” Lobo said.
