Taking a leaf from Prime minister Narendra Modi’s initiative, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday said his government was committed to promote heritage tourism in the state and develop required infrastructure to provide impetus in this direction.

Yadav stated this while addressing a function at the famous Bateshwar cattle fair here.

He said the cattle fair which is the biggest in the state – would be promoted on the lines of Rajasthan’s famous Pushkar fair. “For this, all required assistance would be provided by the state government,” he said, reports Indileak.

Bateshwar is famous for the 101 ancient Shiva temples all in a row along the bank of the Yamuna.
