Ugratara cultural festival in Saharsa begins

The ‘Sri Ugratara Sanskritik Mahotsava’ (cultural festival) begins at Mandan Dham, Mahishi, in Saharsa district on Friday. The state tourism department, in collaboration with Saharsa district administration, has invited several scholars and stage artists to participate in the three-day festival.

State finance minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav will inaugurate the function while tourism minister Jawaid Iqbal Ansari and revenue and land reforms minister N N Yadav would be the chief guests on the occasion. The finance minister would also release a souvenir, ‘Dharohar’.

Some of the scholars, including A N Pandey, director, spiritual awareness programme, Hyderabad, Nisha Jha, chairperson, Bihar Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Indira Jha, teacher, LNMU, Darbhanga, Taranand Viyogi, Maithili writer, and local history teacher K K Jha have confirmed their participation at a seminar scheduled on the second day of the festival, said Anil K Pandey, OSD to Saharsa DM.
