Tourism projects get outlay of Rs 70 cr

Puduchery government has earmarked Rs 70 crores for tourism development projects in all the four regions of Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam during the current fiscal, Welfare and Tourism Minister P Rajavelu said hre today. 

He said Puducherry government was yet to receive Rs 125 crore from the Union Tourism Ministry for implementation of around 14 projects although the allocation was finalised recently. 

Puducherry administration had prepared projects for eight out of the 14 projects involving an outlay of Rs 80.4 crores out of the Rs 125 crore finalised by the Centre. The report had been sent to the Centre for approval and allocation of the funds.
