Tourism Australia, Air India tie up to offer discounted fares

Air India and Tourism Australia have tied up to offer special fares to travellers for the upcoming holiday season. The special offer starting from INR 62,000 will run from January 15-February 14, 2016 and will be applicable for travel between February 17-September 30, 2016, subject to applicable terms and conditions.

Air India runs a daily, non-stop service operated by a Dreamliner Boeing 787 between New Delhi and the Australian cities of Sydney and Melbourne and adds 93,400 seats between India and Australia route on an annual basis. For 2015, Air India recorded a 12% market share for air traffic from India to Australia.

Nishant Kashikar, Country Manager, India & Gulf, Tourism Australia, said, “Air India’s direct flights into Australia have given tourism from India a huge boost, and our increasing arrivals from the country are a testimony to the fact. Seamless connectivity is critical to securing a share of the rising diaspora of Indian overseas travellers. With this limited period offer we aim to significantly boost arrivals into Australia during the upcoming holiday season. We want to give Indian travellers greater choices to plan their holiday in advance and avail the exciting offer.”
