The much awaited heli-tourism initiative – ‘Tirupati Joyride’, jointly envisaged by the AP Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) and Pawan Hans Limited, failed to take off according to schedule, as weather played spoilsport for commencing operations.
The services which were supposed to begin on the occasion of Srivari Brahmotsavams at Tirumala, from September 17 and continue till September 28, were delayed as the helicopter was forced to land in Vijayawada due to inclement weather, reports The Hindu.
“The chopper had to land abruptly in Vijayawada due to overcast conditions. Hopefully, it would reach the temple city on September 20 or 21,” said AP Tourism Divisional Manager R.V. Suresh Kumar Reddy.
