TAT expects 1 million visitors by 2014 end!

Soraya Homchuen, Director, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Mumbai says Thailand is a destination with good hospitality and a place for everyone in experiencing sports activities, wellness and Spa, reports Voyager’s World.

Growth in Indian Market: We have witnessed 6, 80935 visitors from India between January to September 2014 and are expecting a growth of 1 million by the year end.

Segments: We are focusing on the high end Indian tourists to spend their holidays in terms of wellness, spa and beauty care. We are also offering new experiences like learning Thai and cooking classes. One can indulge in some of the soft adventures like self drive, diving and big bike tours plus golf tourism as we have a number of golf courses in Thailand. Hua Hin is well known for destination weddings and Pattaya is also targeting on this segment. Some of the leisure travellers can organize parties and special occasions in Thailand.

Promotional Plans: Tourism Authority of Thailand promotions are more on e marketing through the social media and joint marketing with travel agents in tier 2 and tier 3 cities.
