T2 Mumbai: Bigger and better

Three-and-a-half years after the national Capital got its new terminal, the country’s commercial capital finally has a swanky airport. If it was T3 in Delhi, it is T2 in Mumbai.

With a capacity to handle over 40 million passengers annually, T2 should propel Mumbai among the top airports in the world in terms of passenger-handling capacity.

T2 is expected to start commercial operations in February.

Delhi’s T3 can handle only 34 million passengers a year although it is spread over 5.4 million sq ft. In comparison, Mumbai’s new terminal is spread over only 4.7 million sq ft.
