‘Steps to avoid flight diversion due to fog’

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation is seeking to make New Delhi, a “zero-diversionary airport,” by October this year, a period fraught with many scheduled flights being either postponed or cancelled on account of poor visibility due to foggy conditions.

A committee set up by the director general Prabhat Kumar has submitted 27 recommendations.

Civil aviation secretary Ashok Lavasa has urged stakeholders to implement the recommendations by October this year.
