Sasthamkotta lake, the largest fresh water lake in the state, will be made a major tourist destination soon. The District Tourism Promotion Council has initiated a project to develop it by preserving the natural ecosystem of the area.
“Tourist facilities, including rest rooms and places to sit and watch the beauty of the pristine waters, will be provided,” said P. K. Jayakrishnan, DTPC secretary.
A gateway is proposed as an entry to the lakeside at the temple end. An amphitheatre along with a garden to beautify the lake premises is planned. The theatre is intended to stage various art forms of the state to attract tourists.
