Saputara fest extended by a month


SURAT
The monsoon festival in Gujarat’s only hill station Saputara has turned out to be a huge hit among tourists.

At least 2.7 lakh tourists visited Saputara in August and the state government has extended the festival up to September-end

Last year, 2.3 lakh tourists visited Saputara during the festival and it is the third consecutive year that it has attracted highest number tourists. Hotels and resorts are doing a brisk business and nearly 700 rooms in Saputara have remained packed throughout the month.

“We had more than 90 per cent occupancy in our two hotels at Saputara,” group general manager, Lords Hotel, Dipen Shah said.
