Rs 100 crore to rebuild tourist infra in J&K: MoT

DELHI

The tourism ministry on Thursday pledged Rs 100 crore to J&K to help restore tourism infrastructure in the state.

Tourism minister Shripad Naik announced the special package for restoration and reconstruction of the affected government tourist facilities following the large-scale devastation due to floods.

This will be over and above the already prioritized projects for Central Financial Assistance (CFA) of approximately Rs 127 crore in the current financial year for developing tourism infrastructure in the state. The fund can be used to rebuild the damaged government tourist infrastructure. The state government will be advised to assess the destroyed and damaged tourist amenities and conveniences and come back with the requirement of funds for rebuilding the infrastructure. On examination of the demand, the ministry will sanction funds.
