‘Rlys serious about laying 3rd line between Pune, Lonavala’

Subodh Jain, member (engineering) of the Railway Board, said the Indian Railways was serious about laying a third line between Pune and Lonavala to ease traffic and provide smooth service between the two cities.

Speaking at the annual day function of the Indian Railway Institute of Civil Engineering (IRICEN), he said, “The Pune-Lonavla project has been sanctioned and soon an estimate will be prepared. Work on the project will start as soon as the the funds are allocated for the project.”

The function was attended by Central Railway General Manager B P Khare, IRICEN Director C P Tayal, Pune Division DRM Suneet Sharma, and several other senior officials of Central Railway.
