Rats found on Air India flight yet again

DELHI

After reports of rat infestation in Air India flight from Kolkata to Delhi earlier this month comes yet another incidence of rodents being found on the aircraft.

Air India had grounded a flight earlier this month after shockingly rodents were found on the aircraft. TOI had reported that scores of rats were found scurrying around in flight AI021 which landed at Delhi from Kolkata. A spokesperson for the state-run Air India Lmt had denied the reports while stating only a single rat was found on the flight which was grounded at Indira Gandhi International airport after the discovery. Reports said that the aircraft had to be fumigated as a result of the find. Rats can cause a major catastrophe if they chew electric wires of a fly by wire plane and compromise passenger safety. This could lead to pilots losing control on systems on board leading to a disaster.
