Railways to run six pilgrim special trains from Oct 25

BANGALORE

To promote Rail Tourism, Indian Railways has finalised six pilgrim special tourist train packages in the first phase of launching its rail tourism packages from October 25, 2014 reports Times of India (ToI).

The tourist packages will be launched for – Sukhamngalam Yatra, Dham special with Dakshin Darshan via Lucknow, Dham special with Dakshin Darshan via Jaipur, Shikharji Circuit Yatra, Jyotirling Yatra, and Takht Parikrama.

Indian Railways is also planning Pilgrim Circuit tourist trains by the year end as announced in the Railway Budget. The Minister of Railways, DV Sadananda Gowda, in his budget speech in July 2014, promised to run a tourist train covering the pilgrim and tourist places of Karnataka and Maharashtra.
