Railways to operate special summer trains

The Railways will operate special trains during the summer vacation, informed the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC).

The IRCTC said that the Bharat Darshan train will conduct service from Madurai to destinations in north India, via Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Shoranur, Palakkad, Podanur, Erode, Salem and Vijayawada.

The trip covers tourist places such as Haridwar, Varanasi, Gaya, Puri, Konark and Visakhapatnam. The train will carry only Bharat Darshan tourists.

The train will start from Madurai on May 23, and will pass through Kerala on May 24. The cost of the tour package is `7,500, which includes non-AC sleeper class ticket, non-AC accommodation, non-AC buses for sight-seeing and vegetarian food.
