Punjab Tourism to release film tourism policy

MUMBAI

With large number of Bollywood films shot in the State becoming run-away hits in Box offices, Punjab Heritage & Tourism Promotion Board is planning to come up with a policy to promote their destinations for film tourism. The Tourism Promotion Board of the state is working closely with National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) to formulate a policy which would accord Single Window clearance for film production in the State. This was informed by Basanta Rajkumar, Executive Director, Punjab Heritage & Tourism Promotion Board. He said that the Policy will be ready in a couple of months’ time.

“Destinations like Patiala have become sought after destinations for film shooting because of forts and royal palaces and neat and clean surroundings. The objective is to promote Punjab as a destination for film shooting and encourage local talent to start their own ventures.,” he said. He said that the State will put in place a single window clearance system for film producers to make the permission processes required for shooting easy.
