Only budget airlines at Mumbai’s 1A, 1B terminals

MUMBAI
Mumbai’s Santa Cruz terminal, which currently hosts all domestic flights, will cater only to low-cost carriers such as Indigo, SpiceJet and GoAir once full-service carriers start operating from the new terminal — T2 — expected to be complete by mid-2015, reports Rhik Kundu in Mumbai. “The Santa Cruz terminals — 1A and 1B — will exclusively cater to low-cost airlines once Jet Airways and Air India shift their operations to T2 by June-July 2015,” an Airports Authority of India (AAI) official told FE.

Tata-SIA is expected to launch a full service carrier service later this year while Air Asia India hopes to hit the Indian skies in the next two-three months, with a no-frills model.
