Musafir.com opens 3rd tech centre in Pune

PUNE: Online travel booking site Musafir.com has launched its third technology center in Pune. The firm is looking to double its technology team by the end of the year, it said in a press release.

The Pune center will complement the technology and product teams that are already operating out of centers in Mumbai and UAE.

“Musafir.com was founded with the promise of a stellar user experience backed by the best technology. The establishment of our third technology center in Pune reinforces our commitment to this promise. Our aim is to double the strength of our engineering team by the end of the year, and herald a new generation of innovative user experiences for our travellers,” said Albert Dias – Co-founder / CTO, Musafir.com.

Musafir.com currently has 400+ members spread across 15 offices in 8 cities. The expansion of the tech team is crucial from a business diversification and rapid scaling point of view said Musafir.

It added that with online travel poised to breach the $53 billion mark in India and the GCC by 2018, technology becomes the key to tap this opportunity.

Musafir.com has plans to expand further in India and add more countries to its GCC portfolio. The technology and product team based in Pune will help to accelerate the delivery of next-generation web and mobile applications, along with innovative products and solutions for travellers worldwide.

Musafir.com was founded by Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Thani, Sachin Gadoya and Albert Dias in August 2007.
