MTDC plans tours to Mumbai’s top mandals

For the first time, a tourist from any part of the world will be able to book a seat on a bus that will visit prominent pandals, including that of Lalbaugcha Raja, this Ganesh festival starting August 29.

Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MT-DC) has introduced a special Mumbai Ganeshotsav Darshan package tour, in association with Ganesh mandals to increase tourist footfalls. The one-day package tours are planned to ease darshans for outside tourists, though Mumbaikars will also be able to book seats on the bus.

Jagdish Patil, managing director, MTDC, said, “We are glad to announce the Ganpati festival tour especially for tourists from outside Mumbai. Devotees stand for hours in long queues for darshan, especially at Lalbaug Raja, Andhericha Raja, Mumbaicha Raja and other famous mandals. We have designed the packages in a way that a tourist can enjoy Mumbai’s festival spirit at a very affordable rate and in a hassle-free manner”.
