MP booked in fake air ticket scam

DELHI
The CBI on November 1 filed its first FIR in the leave travel concession scam and booked JD(U) Rajya Sabha MP Anil Kumar Sahani for allegedly claiming around Rs 9.5 lakh from the government by presenting fake air tickets and boarding passes.

Air India customer service agent Rubaina Akhtar and Lajpat Nagar-based travel operator Air Cruise Travels Private Limited have also been named in the FIR, CBI sources said.

The CBI has alleged that Sahani purchased seven business class return e-tickets to Port Blair from Air India, each costing nearly Rs 1.34 lakh, in December 2012 in connivance with the tour operator and the Air India employee. He then used the online service to get the boarding passes.
