Biometric visas delayed by a month, says envoy

KUALA LUMPUR

The introduction of biometrics registration for all Malaysians applying for visas to India, including Tourist and Business visas, has been postponed for a month which came into effect today.

The Indian High Commission’s First Secretary (Politics and Information), K.N. Ramachandran said the decision was made by the Indian High Commissioner to Malaysia T.S. Tirumurti, after a meeting with representatives from the MIC, here on Monday.

“We understand there was a problem among the Indians during the application process, after discussions this ruling has been postponed for a month,” he said.
