Manipur Tourism to promote Sangai Festival


MUMBAI
The Manipur Sangai Festival 2013, organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of Manipur, might witness a partnership between the Ministry and the Ministry of Hotels & Tourism, Myanmar, and the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO). The State Tourism Ministry is planning to jointly promote the Festival in both countries. This information was provided by a source from the Manipur Tourism Department.

The Sangai Festival is an annual cultural festival from November 21-30. Touted as a tourism festival, Sangai is celebrated to promote Manipur as a tourism destination, showcasing the best of the state’s art and culture, handloom, handicrafts and fine arts, indigenous sports, cuisines and music, eco and adventure sports as well as the scenic natural beauty of the state.

The source added that the partnership is a step towards promoting Manipur as a tourism destination and the Festival to international markets.
