The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) and the German federal state of Baden-Wurttemberg, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the recently concluded ITB-Berlin.
The agreement will increase co-operation between the respective tourism industries. The co-operation between Southwest Germany and Maharashtra builds on the long-standing partnership between the capitals of the two regions: Stuttgart and Mumbai.
“This is a landmark agreement between provinces of two countries. The MoU shall work towards sharing knowledge and increasing opportunities for growth of tourism. Mumbai receives highest Foreign Tourist Arrivals and also many Indians and from Maharashtra travel to EU countries. We are looking at optimizing the business for tourism stakeholders, improve cooperation in every possible manner and boost tourism in both provinces,” Sumit Mullik, additional chief secretary of tourism in Maharashtra informed Travel Daily India.
