Madame Tussauds opens in Delhi

DELHI: Famed wax museum Madame Tussauds (MT) has opened its door to the public in Delhi, India on December 1. This is the 23rd  MT in the world. At the iconic Regal Building in Lutyen’s Delhi, Delhi, 50 life-like wax figures of international and national celebrities across history, sports, music, films, and politics will be attraction for visitors.

madame tussauds delhiFor instance, expect to find the likes of celebrities such as sport stars Sachin Tendulkar, Mary Kom, Milkha Singh, David Beckham and Lionel Messi to Bollywood A-listers Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit Nene, as well as political leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Narendra Modi, international stars like Will Smith, Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, Beyonce Knowles and more. Given the popularity of the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, this venue is a much-awaited attraction for the Capital.

The tickets to the attraction are priced at Rupees. 960 for adults and Rupees. 760 for children.

Anshul Jain, General Manager and Director, Merlin Entertainment said, “This is truly an exhilarating and emotional feeling to finally see Madame Tussauds in Delhi. Guests will be encouraged to interact, perform and even reflect with our figures in unique and immersive settings within the attraction”.

“The wax statues would need special care in India, for which there is a team of 40 managing the museum, including three Indian artists to take care of the figures,” said Marcel Kloos, Director New openings Europe and Emerging Markets, Merlin Ent.

The first Madame Tussauds attraction was opened in 1835 on Baker Street in London. Now, more than 200 years, it has 23 flagship sites globally in cities like London, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Berlin and New Delhi.
