Kashmir, South Africa are Gujarat tourists’ hotspots this year

Poll fever has gripped the country this summer, but it hasn’t dampened the spirits of Gujarati travellers, large numbers of whom are making advance bookings for the holidays. There has been an increase of more than 25% in holiday bookings this summer, with Kashmir and South Africa emerging as the most favoured destinations.

“There is almost no impact of elections on holiday bookings this year. As school exams in Gujarat end by the second week of April and voting day is on April 30, people have planned on dates after that,” said Sanjeev Chajjer, vice-president, Cox & Kings. Among domestic destinations, Kashmir and Shimla-Manali have emerged the top favorites. while for international destinations, South Africa and New Zealand are the hottest.
