Jet appoints Rahul Taneja as chief people’s officer

Jet Airways announced the appointment of Rahul Taneja as CPO (chief people officer). Taneja, 47, has over 25 years of experience in diverse industry sectors and has worked in HR leadership positions across leading Indian and international companies. He will be responsible for shaping the operations and performance of the Group. He will join the executive management committee tasked by the airline’s Board to drive the company’s growth and future strategy. Taneja will be based at Jet Airways’ corporate headquarters in Mumbai and report to the CEO.

Commenting on the appointment, Naresh Goyal, Chairman, Jet Airways, said,  “I am delighted that Rahul Taneja has joined Jet Airways as Chief People Officer and a key member of our executive management committee. He brings with him a global HR management perspective, and I am sure Jet Airways will benefit substantially from his expertise and experience locally and internationally.”

Taneja previously headed Corporate Human Resources at Essar Group, an Energy, Metals & Mining, Infrastructure and Services multinational corporation. His earlier roles included HR Director at computer giant Dell International and Group HR Head at telecom networks solutions company, HFCL.

Taneja said, “I am very pleased to take up this key role at Jet Airways, an airline that has emerged in a dynamic aviation industry as a great Indian brand with significant presence in domestic and international markets. As the company moves to its next phase of evolution, we will support this through effectively channelling our human capital to further enhance the guest experience and meet the organisation’s growth objectives.”
