Jaipur celebrates Tourism Day with heritage walks

JAIPUR

Heritage walks, cleanliness drive and colourful events marked the ‘World Tourism Day’ in the Pink City on Saturday.

The day started with ‘Ghat Ki Guni Heritage Walk’ from Roop Niwas Bagh and ended at Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh, reports The Times of India.

Citizens participated in the walk to create awareness about preserving our heritage, tourism director Vikram Singh said.

Another event was organised at Elephant Village at Kunda near Amber where cleanliness and tree plantation drive was taken up to mark the occasion. Participants swept the area and planted trees.

The elephant-owners were also present along with the office bearers of the Elephant Owners Development Society.
