Investor-friendly initiative to promote tourism in Andhra

There is immense potential and need for development of tourism in Andhra Pradesh and the ‘investor-friendly’ approach of the State government and its new tourism policy will spur the growth of the tourism sector, according to K. Lakshminarayana, chief consultant and director, AP Project Facilitators and Consultancy Services Limited.

He was in the city to participate in a meeting organised by the Air Traveller’s Association of India here on Friday, August 7, reports Hindu.

The new initiatives of the government include provision of infrastructure facilities like roads, water supply and sewage to tourism projects, waiver of Nala tax and land conversion tax, 100 per cent reimbursement of registration and stamp duty for first-time projects, 100 per cent exemption of luxury tax and entertainment tax for all new projects and proposal to accord ‘industry’ status to tourism projects.
