India-PoK bus service stopped after drug related issues

SRINAGAR
India and Pakistan suspended the bus service between Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus service last week after authorities in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir arrested a driver over charges of smuggling drugs over the Line of Control (LoC). The Karvan-e-Aman (Peace Caravan) service has been suspended indefinitely for now.
As per media reports, Anayat Hussain, a Muzaffarabad resident, was arrested following recovery of 305 packets of suspected contraband substance from his vehicle on Friday. HE was carrying oranges in the truck. A local trader, Zahoor Ahmad Malla, who was to allegedly receive the consignment, was also taken into custody. A case under Section 8/21 of NDPS Act has been registered against the two.
The bus service will be only resumed after PoK authorities resolve the issue.
