Hoax call forces GoAir flight to land in Nagpur

A Mumbai-bound GoAir flight, carrying 150 passengers on board, was diverted to Nagpur due to a hoax bomb call.

The flight, which took off from Bhubaneswar at 8.20am landed at Nagpur at 9.29am. The threat call was received at Biju Patnaik airport in Bhubaneshwar, reports DNA.

The GoAir spokesperson said, “The GoAir flight, G8-243, took off from Bhubaneshwar towards Mumbai and post receiving the bomb threat call, was diverted to Nagpur. After deplaning all 150 passengers safely, checks were conducted by the airport security and there was no bomb found on board.” The airline officials said that post clearance from the authorities, the passengers were boarded again and the flight took off at 12 noon to Mumbai. “The GoAir officials at Bhubaneshwar immediately informed the local police which are investigating the matter,” the spokesperson added.

In a related development, the city police has held a man identified as Sanjeev Mishra who has reportedly troubling the airport officers since Friday. The CISF sources said that on Friday evening, Mishra called up police control room stating that a bomb concealed in a suitcase was kept inside a car with registration number MH 02 BD 5070.
