Goa framing policy on FAR for hotels

The government is framing a detailed policy to implement its budget assurance to increase floor area ratio (FAR) by 20 % to four star and five star hotels, chief minister Manohar Parrikar told representatives of the travel and tourism association (TTAG).

A representation led by president Francisco de Braganca had called on Parrikar on Monday to discuss various issues affecting tourism industry. The chief minister said it will be decided on case-to-case basis. Also additional FAR will be available to all old and existing hotels as well as new hotels proposed to be constructed.

The TTAG president made a request for inclusion of lower category hotels. Parrikar has agreed to look into the request at least as regards three star hotels, he said.
