GMR Infra records 3% growth in air traffic at Delhi airport

GMR Infrastructure Limited, the Bangalore-based infrastructure major with interests in power, airports, roads, EPC and SEZ development, has witnessed good traffic growth in all airports it operates during the first quarter ended June 30, 2013. The company is currently operating airports at Delhi, Hyderabad and Istanbul in Turkey.

The overall traffic growth of at Delhi and Hyderabad was around 3 per cent was seen at Delhi airports, while it grew a healthy 18 per cent in Istanbul during the first quarter. In Delhi, the international traffic growth was robust at 20 per cent compared to corresponding period last year. International traffic at Hyderabad airport went up 24 per cent and cargo operations saw a growth of per cent over the first quarter of fiscal 2013.

Istanbul airport recorded an international traffic growth of 30 per cent compared to Q1 last year and domestic traffic grew 11 per cent, the company said in a statement.
