GFDO accuses govt, AAI of doing nothing

Criticizing both the state government and the Airport Authority of India (AAI) for failing to come to any consensus on the land required for the expansion of Dabolim airport facilities, Goans for Dabolim Only (GFDO) feared that the new under-construction terminal would be inaugurated sans requisite infrastructure efficient functioning.

“The strangulation of Dabolim airport due to the infighting of these two public authorities will indisputably break the backbone of the tourism industry, which is presently the only source of revenue for the state,” said Fr Eremito Rebello, GFDO convenor.

Rebelo further pointed out that going by chief minister Manohar Parrikar claims that the AAI had failed to utilize the land that the state had already allotted to it, then it is his duty as the chief minister to go beyond mere rhetoric and find ways to effectively nudge the AAI into performing their functions.
