Foreign exchange and tourist arrivals grow in 2013

Foreign Exchange Earnings (FEEs) from tourism in in November 2013 increased by 7.26% to Rs.10,429 crore as compared to Rs.9723 crore in November, 2012. The number of tourist arrivals too grew by 2.4% to 7.18 lakh in November 2013 as compared to 7.01 lakh in November 2012.

For the period between January and November 2013, FEEs were up 12.2% at Rs.94,156 crore as compared to the FEEs of at Rs.83,938 crore for the same period in 2012. This corresponded with FTAs of 60.48 lakh between January and November 2013 as compared to FTAs of 58.25 lakh for the same period in 2012 

Ministry of Tourism compiles monthly estimates of Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs) on the basis of the FTAs data at major ports and Foreign Exchange Earnings (FEEs) from tourism on the basis of data available from Reserve Bank of India.
