Canada records 46.5% growth in Indian visitors

DELHI

Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) has recorded 46.5 per cent rise in Indian visitor arrival in July 2014 over the same month last year. Till July 2014, overnight arrivals from India to Canada have increased 20.7 per cent. The Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) saw a leap in overnight arrivals from overseas markets. This is the second consecutive month of double-digit growth. Growth in overnight arrivals was led by the CTC Asian markets, followed by CTC Latin America and CTC core markets in Europe and Australia. On a year-over-year basis, all CTC core markets expanded in July 2014.

“India has always been an important market for CTC. With a growth of 46.5 per cent in July, the potential has been unleashed. With an objective to identify a range of opportunities we are also tapping Tier III cities, besides the rapidly growing Tier II market in India, ” said Mr. SanJeet-India Representative, Canadian Tourism Commission.

Throwing light on some of the new initiatives, he informed that in line with our strategy to target newer growth areas, the CTC would now be targeting cities of Indore, Nagpur, Pune, Jaipur, Lucknow and would be conducting workshops in these cities in the coming months.
We hope to see this rising trend continue in the coming months.
