Berggruen Hotels India CEO Sanjay Sethi resigns

MUMBAI

Sanjay Sethi, MD and CEO, Berggruen Hotels India (BHI) has resigned from the company. BHI runs Keys brand hotels in the country. He had been with the company for eight years.

Sethi will continue to be a shareholder of the company.  “I strongly believe in the business model of Keys and hence will remain invested as a passive share holder in the company,” Sethi told Mint. He also categorically denied recent media reports that Berggruen was looking to sell its India operations to UK-based hospitality company Whitbread Group

Sethi’s added that the company is looking to expand its portfolio of hotels in India. “We have around 20 hotels under various stages of development today and we are targeting 50 operational hotels by the year 2018,” said Sethi.
