Bengal to launch chopper services


KOLKATA
The West Bengal Government is planning to introduce helicopter services to various tourist destinations across the State from Kolkata soon.

To be operated by one of the Pawan Hans helicopters, the service will be extended to places such as Gangasagar, Shantiniketan, Durgapur, Malda and Balurghat.

According to the State Transport Minister Madan Mitra, the helicopter service is aimed at creating tourism opportunities and providing a faster connectivity.

Bookings for Gangasagar and Durgapur are likely to start on December 29 and December 30, while one can book tickets for other two destinations in the first week of January.
