Australian firm to open 23 ‘Flight Shops’ in India

Australia based travel firm Flight Centre Travel Group will open 23 “Flight Shops” stores across India by June 2017 said the firm on the occasion of opening its 13th store at M-block market, Greater Kailash, New Delhi. Flight Shop is set to launch the next store in Mumbai in the second week of November. It is eyeing cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Kolkata and Tier-II markets like Lucknow, Patna and Nagpur.

“We will be investing around Rs 20 crore for these stores,” FCm Travel Solutions and Flight Shop Managing Director Rakshit Desai told PTI.

Talking about the store in Delhi, Vicki Parris, National Brand Leader, India, Flight Shop, said, “This new store exudes a refreshing lounge set-up where customers can sit in a relaxed manner, browse innovative itineraries on large format screens and choose from a wide range of experiences with a dedicated travel expert.”

Rakshit Desai, Managing Director, India, FCm Travel Solutions and Flight Shop, said the market for consultative relationship driven travel management particularly in the retail space is under served. “Customers see Flight Shop as a credible international travel brand with an exhaustive web of over 1,000 airline and hospitality partners, as well as travel facilitators to offer turnkey travel assistance for varied budgets and choices. Due to the same, our repeat clientele is over 87 per cent and we are growing by leaps and bounds from word of mouth publicity,” Desai added.
