About TIME Goa tourism goes online

PANAJI

The Goa tourism department will soon connect with all registered hotels in the state through a software called TIME to collect details of guests staying in these hotels on a daily basis. The online and accurate collection of data is expected to help the government in better management and policy making in the tourism sector. It will also help in tightening security as the police department will also have access to the system.

TIME is an acronym for tourism information management enterprises and is working successfully in the 12 government-run GTDC residencies for the last one month. The programme has been written by the government firm Goa Electronics limited. Sources in GEL claimed that Goa will be the first state in India to use such a system. It is expected to be launched in October.
