2nd edition of NE Festival in Delhi from Nov 7

GUWAHATI

The second edition of the North East Festival is going to be held at the IGNCA, Janpath, New Delhi, from November 7 to 10. This year’s edition of the festival will focus on the various business and investment opportunities that the region presents, apart from showcasing the multifarious culture and rich heritage of the north-eastern States.
The North East Festival is organized by socio-cultural trust Trend MMS, in association, North East Community of Delhi (comprising student organizations, activists of the North-east based in Delhi) and IGNCA. The event has also become part of the prestigious Delhi International Art Festival.

Expected to be attended by over one lakh people, top North-east icons such as MC Mary Kom, Adil Hussain, Everester Anshu Jamsenpa, boxer Shiva Thapa, etc., besides policymakers of the country, Chief Ministers of various north-eastern States, top bureaucrats, intellectuals, students, investors, tour operators, among others, will be the participants, reports Assam Tribune.

Shyamkanu Mahanta, organizer-in-chief, North East Festival, said, “This year the theme is ‘Insurgence to Resurgence’ with focus on highlighting the positive stories of entrepreneurship and development. Apart from the carnival, exhibition-cum-sales showcasing unique artisans and weavers of the region, organic fruits and vegetables would be presented. The objective is to make Delhi understand the North-east in one platform, and to promote tourism in the region.”
