UP holds travel mart in Agra

Uttar Pradesh (UP) state Government is holding a UP travel mart in Agra in partnership with industry body FICCI from February 21-23, 2016 to promote tourism in the state. About 60 representatives from 23 countries are expected to participate in the events along with 16 domestic tour operators.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony on Sunday, Navneet Sehgal, principal secretary UP told the Times of India, “Tourists come to Agra in large numbers but only a few stay in the city overnight. Hence, our efforts are focused towards organizing attractive events, such as cultural programs near Taj on a daily basis- adding to the city’s aesthetic value and at the same time, keeping the tourism industry pleased.”

The exhibition is focusing on distributing information about the different tourist destination in the state as well promoting tourism among foreigners, Indian tour operators and  other tourism stakeholders.
