Tourism project work to begin at Ayyarvattom


Giving a fillip to pilgrim tourism, Kerala tourism minister A P Anil Kumar, will inaugurate the work of pilgrim centre tourism project at Ayyarvattom Maha Sudarshana temple, at Eravannur on October 3. The state government recently gave nod for developing Ayyarvattom Maha Sudarshana Temple near Narikkuni, a pilgrim tourism centre following a proposal submitted by the district tourism promotion council.

The temple is claimed to be the only one in Kerala with Maha Sudarshana as the prathishta. A large number of pilgrims reach this temple to participate in Maha Sudarshana homam and temple festival.

As per the existing plans, pilgrim friendly amenities will be set up at temple using Rs 30 lakh. The DTPC has received a nod for carrying out the first phase work of the project. The work of proposal includes work of guest room and other amenities work on the temple pond also is planned under the scheme.
