MUMBAI: Tourism New Zealand presented a sneak peek at the 100% Pure New Zealand campaign featuring Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra at the ITC Grand Central hotel in Mumbai today. The campaign will be launched in India on February 1, 2017. through digital and social media platforms with airline partners like Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Air New Zealand and Thai Airways and select trade partners.
Malhotra is also the tourism board’s India brand ambassador and was present at the event along with Steven Dixon, Regional Manager – South and South East Asia, Tourism New Zealand. The event also featured a video of Malhotra’s latest fun and food filled 10-day trip across Auckland, Rotorua, Hamilton Waikato, and Christchurch and Canterbury regions.
He visited the famous Hagley Oval cricket ground and played cricket with cricket stars Stephen Fleming and Brendon McCullum there. He also took a helicopter ride with former All Blacks rugby icon Richie McCaw. The video alsos aw him experiencing adventure pumping activities such as Auckland bridge climb, jet boat, luge ride and ziplining.
“India is a priority market for Tourism New Zealand. Last year we recorded 51,000 Indian arrivals with 26,000 visiting for leisure, a segment that grew 23%. We believe the market has great potential for growth in future. Which is why we are extremely pleased to continue our relationship with Sidharth for a second year and hope to achieve double digit growth for next year as well,” said Dixon.
Recounting the best parts of his trip, Malhotra said, “New Zealand never ceases to amaze me. My recent trip there was truly rewarding. It was thrilling to meet my rugby idol, Richie McCaw and visiting The Hobbit movie set. New Zealand is always a treat for the eyes, with its panoramic views and captivating landscapes.
