Thrissur to host travel writers

About 50 travel writers from all over the world will tour Thrissur, the Cultural Capital of Kerala in January next year, to discover and experience the many wonders of the place. In a unique initiative, the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) of Thrissur is organising a tour for travel writers in a bid to project and promote the place as a sought-after destination, reported Hiran Unnikrishnan in Deccan Chronicle.

The week-long trip, scheduled to be held from January 8-14, is timed to coincide with the state’s festival season and the International Theatre Festival of Kerala as well. According to DTPC officials, the tour comprises trips to various Ecotourism spots ranging from the Athirappally-Vazhachal tourism circuit to the Kole wetlands and sites of historical significance like the Umbrella Stones in Kandanassery and the Shakthan Thampuran Palace.
