Thomas Cook open ‘mini’ at Rudrapur

RUDRAPUR: Thomas Cook (India) has chosen Rudrapur for the launch of its ‘Thomas Cook Mini’ service in the State of Uttarakhand. The Mini service aims to open smaller technology assisted outlets to aggressively target the Tier III markets like Rudrapur.

Thomas Cook India said that its internal research highlighted Rudrapur potential for same. It was a significant source market for foreign exchange segments of overseas study, outward remittances and prepaid cards.

The Mini outlet at Rudrapur will be manned by a two member team, equipped with technology via mobile devices/tablets for seamless online connectivity to central systems, thus facilitating quick customer transactions.

Mahesh Iyer, COO, Thomas Cook (India) said, “Rudrapur is a significant market for students (second only to Dehradun), equally a strong industrial hub for auto and agro based industries. With our internal data-analytics clearly revealing the untapped yet high growth potential of Rudrapur, a low-cost, rapid penetration model was a clear need, and hence the launch of our Thomas Cook Mini.”
