Ayurveda methods of treatment are in demand during the Malayalam month of Karkidakam
It’s that time of year again when many take a couple of days off, relax, and pamper themselves with massages. The Malayalam month of Karkidakam has begun and Ayurveda centres in and around the city have geared up for an upsurge in clientele as customers head towards their favourite centres for relaxing and healing regimes that refresh the body and senses.
Time to revitalize
The month of Karkidakam, say Ayurveda physicians, is perfect for people to undergo various kinds of Ayurveda treatment. “This is because the atmosphere during the month is cool, moist and dust free, which helps the pores of the body to open up, making it receptive to Ayurveda herbal oils and therapies,” says Satish Kumar of Ayur Health Care.
Prevention is better than cure
While the middle aged take the various treatments as a preventive measure, the elderly come in for relief from their aches and pains and other ailments. Youngsters too troop in for stress-related problems and lumbar- problems. Says Pushpakumari of Vasudeva Vilasam: “There are various treatments for each season. Karkidakam, however, is considered to be the best time to go in for various kinds of Ayurveda regimes. As people are now aware of the benefits of staying fit, they ask for specific therapies that help improve their vitality.”
