One country’s trouble can be another country’s opportunity. In this case, it seems Bangkok’s loss is turning out to be a gain for India, at least in tourism. Due to escalation of violence since last week in the Thai capital, foreign tourists are shifting their plans to India.
Geographical advantage coupled with weak Indian currency is helping cornering tourists from Bangkok. Every year about 6.7 million foreign tourist visit India.
According to Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) the fresh revival in political crisis has led to a shift towards India who were planning to visit the Thai capital.
